Groups and private parties are planned differently from open departures. Dates move to suit the group, the itinerary is built around who is actually travelling, and the coordination load is heavier. This page describes how we run that work for agents, clubs, schools, companies and families.

Types of group we operate

  • Private families and multi-generational travel, often valleys plus shorter treks rather than one long expedition.
  • Clubs, universities and schools on cultural, trekking or mixed programmes.
  • Corporate and incentive groups, including cultural and adventure programmes with a single group movement.
  • Private small groups travelling at their own pace without joining a departure.
  • Specialist-interest groups such as photography, birding and trekking clubs that need time in specific places.
  • Agent-sold departures where you set the price and we operate.

What we handle for a group

  • Route design and pacing appropriate to the group, not to a standard template.
  • Permits, logistics and camp arrangements.
  • Transport, including transfers between valley bases and trailheads.
  • Accommodation on a single consistent basis for the whole group.
  • Guiding and crew scaled to the group and the route.
  • Communication with your group leader as well as with the booking agent.
  • On-trip problem handling by a named contact in Pakistan.

Planning a group programme

  • 1. Group profile. Size, age range, fitness spread, mobility considerations and interests.
  • 2. Dates and region. We confirm what suits the least mobile member of the group, not the fittest.
  • 3. Written plan. Day by day, with inclusions, exclusions and cost, for your approval.
  • 4. Confirmation and briefing. Arrangements held, then practical notes issued to the group leader.
  • 5. Operation. Single point of contact for the agent, separate support for the leader in-country.

Choosing the right level for a group

Not every group should take the same route. If members are new to trekking at altitude, a valley and meadow programme such as Patundas or Fairy Meadows delivers the mountains without the acclimatisation profile of a base camp trek. If the group is experienced and the dates suit, the higher routes are appropriate. We will recommend the lower option when that is the honest one.

Routes that suit groups

Health, altitude and insurance for groups

Altitude is the factor that decides most mountain itineraries, so we plan around it rather than adding it at the end. Read altitude and acclimatization before committing a group to a high route, and make sure the group has insurance that actually covers the activity and the altitude: travel insurance for treks in Pakistan.

Preparation standards apply to every traveller regardless of fitness: trekking and expedition preparation.
