Vertical Explorers is a Pakistan-based ground operator for tour operators, travel companies and DMC partners placing groups into Pakistan. You keep the customer relationship and the brand; we run the operation on the ground.

Why international operators work with a Pakistani ground partner

Pakistan is not a market you can service reliably from outside the country. Mountain permits, road access between valleys, local guiding and camp logistics all depend on people based here, and all of them move with the season and the weather. A local operator removes that coordination work from your team and converts it into a written plan you can sell.

  • One contract, one contact. You brief us; we confirm what is operationally possible and price it.
  • Written itineraries. Day-by-day plans with inclusions and exclusions, suitable for your brochure or your client portal.
  • Local knowledge applied to your dates. We tell you when a route is not viable in a given window rather than selling it and explaining later.
  • On-the-ground coordination. Our offices are in Skardu and Islamabad, so the operation is run by people who can actually reach the trailhead.

Journeys we currently operate

The Pakistani operating context, explained

Regions and access

The main tourist regions are Gilgit-Baltistan (Skardu, Baltistan, Hunza, Ghizer, Gilgit, Diamer), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Chitral, Kalash, Swat) and the Punjab and Islamabad corridors for culture and touring. Each has its own road situation and permit regime.

Regions and where they sit

Entry formalities

Entry requirements depend on nationality and are set by Pakistani authorities, not by us. Partners should send their clients to the current official guidance early in the process; our Pakistan visa information page summarises what we publish, and it is the traveller-facing reference.

Seasons and road conditions

The main mountain window is broadly June to August, with May and September workable for many routes and winter largely closed at altitude. Mountain roads are affected by weather, landslides and seasonal conditions, so itineraries need buffers and flexible sequencing. See best time to visit Pakistan.

Payments and documentation

Payment options are set out on our travel payment plans page, and the contractual terms are in our terms and conditions. We will confirm the arrangement that applies to your booking in writing.

How an operator engagement runs

  • 1. Brief. Pax count, dates, region, budget position, service level and anything unusual about the group.
  • 2. Feasibility. We confirm what can be operated in that window and flag anything that cannot.
  • 3. Written plan. Day-by-day itinerary, inclusions, exclusions and cost, for your approval.
  • 4. Confirmation. Dates and arrangements held as agreed; balance and payment schedule confirmed.
  • 5. Documentation. Practical briefing notes for your clients, including preparation guidance.
  • 6. Operation. A named contact in Pakistan for the duration of the trip.

What we do not claim

We do not publish response-time commitments, client numbers, partner names or industry certifications, because we would rather show you the operation and answer your specific questions than present a list we cannot evidence on this page. If you need a particular assurance for your own due diligence, ask and we will answer it directly.

Common questions from partners

Can you operate a fixed departure with our branding?

Yes. The operation is ours and invisible to the traveller; your brand appears on the client-facing documents.

Do you handle permits?

Yes, as part of the operation. Clients are told what they must carry themselves.

Do you work with smaller agencies?

Yes. The engagement scales from a single private departure to a series of group departures.

What about travellers who need medical or evacuation cover?

We do not sell insurance, but altitude and activity exclusions are the single most common problem for international groups. Please direct clients to read travel insurance for treks in Pakistan before they commit to a high route.
